When the back of the truck opened, all I could think was, oh crap. What is going to happen now. Three Nazis opened the door screaming at us to get out while they were holding AK-47s at our bodies. We all cowardly got out, scared like crazy. I heard a swat of a gun, and looked back to see who it was, it wasn't Anterio, because he was in front of me. It was an older man that fell out of the truck. I had just realized, that if you weren't fast enough, you got killed. So I kept ahead of the group. When we walked for about a mile, we finally came to a big, brick wall, with a little doorway. It said "Auschwitz Concentration Camp." I was thinking in my head "great, this is it, I'm dead, concentration camps are just another name for death camps." I thought millions of bad things. I …show more content…

You filthy rats!" Screamed a Nazi. We dredged on the path through the gate. Right as we walked through the gate, there was a gunshot, the person at the end had been killed. I couldn't look back, I couldn't stand the sight of death. We stood there, waiting for the Kapo, or a Jew that didn't get killed as easily and had the same power of the Nazis. We stood there for roll call, which was to see if all the Jews were there. We had to look as healthy as we could, and if we didn't, you were a gonner. Sometimes the Nazis would shoot a Jew for no reason what so ever. After roll call, we got taken to some type of building, it smelled like burning flesh, and that's what it was, burning flesh. The Nazis were branding the Jews. They were giving Jews tattoos. They didn't give you any medicine, they used a blow torch and heated up the numbers and stuck them on you.
