My research will be the history of Austin, Tx. Austin is more than just a city with a large population. This city holds a lot of historical background in it that many people might not know about. Austin also has many sites that are fun to visit. Many of those sites include Mount Bonnell, Mayfield Park, The Elisabet Ney Museum, Borton Springs Pool, South Congress Avenue, Graffiti park at castle hill, and Zilker metropolitan park. I grew up in Austin, Texas and feel like this city is very beautiful. My research will help me find out more about it. My expectations on doing my research is to understand and learn the history of Austin and its historical sites.

According to the Austin relocation guide, Austin is known as the “Live Music Capital of the World.”, “The slogan became official in 1991, after it was discovered that Austin had more live music venues per capita than anywhere else in the nation.” Austin has many music events and festivals every year, with many different artists that travel a long distance to come to perform at. Most of the live music is performed on 6th street at the music venues from night to night. The Mayfield park was presented to Austin in 1971 for all vocals to freely come and visit the two acres of colorful cottage. The entire park covers 21 acres. The park can get you to feel all of the nature surrounding you and the parks is also right next to Mount Bonnell. The Elisabet Ney Museum holds many portraits of “Texas heros” and is located at 304 East 44th Street. According to the Austin Museum Partnership, “The Elisabet Ney Museum is the landmark former American studio of European portrait sculptor Elisabet Ney (1833-1907). The former studio, including 2.5 acres, was designed by Elisabet Ney. The former studio is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a member of Historic Artists Homes and Studios, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, based on the significance of Elisabet
