The Daintree Rainforest is the largest rainforest in Australia and is located in the north of Queensland near Port Douglas and Mossman. The Daintree Rainforest has been around for 20000 years and then was aboriginals land. Location and Type of rainforest The Daintree Rainforest is a tropical rainforest. A tropical rainforest is a rainforest where the temperature is above 30 degrees and rainfall is common all year round. The Daintree Rainforest has a history that stretches more than 135 million years. This rainforest has survived all the natural disasters that have happened over the years for example: volcanoes,the rising and falling of sea levels, glacier movement and cyclonic winds. Government Authorities have also put orders out for people not to set foot in parts in the Daintree Rainforest. The first person to discover the rainforest was Sir Joseph Banks in the early 1770's.
