The role of Australian women in World War II changed completely. It occurred during 1939 to 1945. Australia was involved in the war because on 1st of September 1939 Germany invaded Poland. Britain had declared that it would defend Poland causing British Empire, including Australia, and France to declare war on Germany. The transformation of the role of Australian Women in WW2 was significant because they transformed from being employed in factories, shops or in family businesses to being employed in military services and having skilled jobs. Before the war, it was expected that women would resign from their employment at childbirth and maintain the home but during the war they transitioned to doing men’s work to release them to join the overseas forces. They live in the same condition as men and in isolated district which took them to unpleasant condition, for instance, life with mosquitoes and sandflies as companions. In addition to, they felt much enriched by the experience and they are just not themselves they are part of their nation. The transformation of attitude and belief of society transform from men totally disagree women to enlist in the war to appreciate them for take over their jobs to able them to serve their country. Soldiers saw women as fooling in the war but they involved in the service with load of enthusiasm. In the conclusion to, at the end of the war, women were being respected and treated equally.
