There are so many things in this world that mystify me. I have come to understand that my kind and I are quite different than those who are presented in front of me. They call us Australopithecus Afarensis in which they categorize me as similar yet still very unlike these humans (or in their terms Homo sapiens). In looking at the skull, limbs, body shape, and jaw of these Homo sapiens in contrast to me as an Australopithecus Afarensis it can clearly be seen how I am an intermediate between the apes species and the more advanced humans. This is mainly due to the fact that the Australopithecus Afarensis has many ape-like features but human like similarities as well.
To begin, the similarity of the skull exhibits how the Australopithecus Afarensis

The jaw of us is very long and narrow with the lower jaw having an arrangement that make the teeth a bit wider apart in the back compared to that of the front however the incisor teeth in the front are pretty wide. There is a gap called diastema that are a predominate ape like trait in which happen mainly between canines and incisors. The canines we have are quite a bit more pointed and longer than other teeth, this is not seen in Homo sapiens. The idea of the limbs also gives the correlation that Australopithecus Afarensis is a descendant of apes. We as Australopithecus Afarensis have strong, long forearm as to use our weight in trees and shoulder blades that face at an upward angle like apes rather than the sides as humans. The fingers we possess are longer and curvier as to better handle trees. Our skulls are another differing trait from humans. Humans have a higher forehead, while we exhibit a more low and sloping forehead with more defined brow ridges up above our eyes. Something else Homo sapiens don’t seem to have is a sagittal crest which gives us a more powerful jaw even if the Australopithecus Afarensis’s crest in short and toward the jaws rear it still more suggest our apes ancestry. There is also the idea of the brain size. Ours are only about 1.3% of our body weight and averaging about 430 cubic
