As a person grows up they might begin to think about the way they were raised and how people are so different. Everyone in this world is different and although some differences are genetic, most have to do with the way a person was raised, the type of parents they had, and the parenting style their parents used. The type of parenting style that is being used to raise a child has tremendous effect on the type of adult the child will be. Some teenagers grow up saying that when they have children they will not treat their child like their parents treated them or they might say that they want to be just like their parents; either way the type of parenting style used in raising a child influences the decisions that the child will make in the future. There are several different types of parenting style each with a unique set of characteristics and each with different results. One parenting style is known as authoritarian, which involves more of a cold, controlling relationship between the parent and the child. Many people see authoritarian parenting style as harsh, controlling, and possibly unfair, while permissive parenting is loose, free, and whatever happens, happens. Authoritarian parenting styles result in children who rebel, have distant relationships, trouble making decisions, and lower self-esteem in their everyday life. Permissive parenting styles result in children who lack emotional understanding, are unable to manager time, and are more likely to make poor decisions. Both parenting styles can have different negative outcomes that can lead to a problemed future when that child becomes a parent and must decide what type of parenting style they should
