How do autistic schools work? what's the program usually like? where are they?
These are questions asked about autistic schools along with some people not even knowing there are autistic schools. Well there are and here's information on them to answer those questions.
To begin an autistic school is manly based off of the parents of autistic children. Public school districts are able to cover expenses of a private school but parents have to give them a reason too. they have to show that their child isnt fit for public school and they have more needs than can be given. Most parents favor autistic schools over public because they are made to help with the specific Disability. Parents do have to deal with the expensive tuition that can be as high as 75000 per year(best).

Charter or magnet schools receive funding from the public and use a lottery to operate. Private academies may not receive public funding, but often have a choice on acceptance of children on the spectrum. Some of these academies only accept people with autism spectrum diagnoses. An example of an academy of learning is located in toledo,Ohio, and is a year round public school for kids with some diagnoses of autism. The focus at this school is providing solid foundation in behavior management skills, daily living, and vocational skills. There is also a strong emphasis on academic learning. Also LandPark Academy located in Sacramento California is a behavioral based program and offers a helpful educational program.
