French Cyrano, American Cyrano Comparison

Many countries do the same things differently, especially when these things take place hundreds of years apart. However there are exceptions, for example, the play Cyrano de Bergerac, and the movie Roxanne. There are some definite general similarities between Cyrano and Charlie, and the movie/play that they are in. First off, both main characters have extravagant, monstrous, humungous noses. Both characters are extremely smart and witty. Cyrano and Charlie write love letters to Roxxane. The Balcony Scene in both movies is very simular. Some general differences, that stands out worse than Cyrano’s nose, are in Cyrano de Bergerac both Christian and Cyrano die. However in Roxane neither Charlie nor Chris die, Chris runs off with another girl while Charlie gets his girl, Roxane. Cyrano de Bergerac is a tragedy and takes place in the 1600’s, while Roxane is a comedy and takes place in modern day. The weapon of choice for Cyrano is a sharp sword, for Charlie, since he would most likely get arrested for carrying around a sword, so he chooses the almighty fearsome Tennis Racket of DOOM!! In every story, movie, play, or T.V. show there are minor characters. In the movie Roxane and the play Cyrano de Bergerac there are minor characters, but they have some differences.
