Uluru also better known as Ayers Rock is one of the most recognised landforms in Australia. It is found in the Northern Territory in the western part of the Simpson Desert . The rock was created 600 million years ago and the Aboriginal Australians have been living in this area for the last 10,000 years. Uluru originally sat at the bottom of a sea, but today stands 348m above ground.
One of the most interesting Uluru facts is that almost 2.5kms of its mass is underground. Its position in the Simpson Desert is not from not far from the ‘Red Centre’ of Australia, about 335kms southwest of Alice Springs and 463kms by road. The rock is about 3.6kms long and 1.9kms wide, with a circumference of 9.4kms. The climb to the top of Uluru is about 1.6kms,
