Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth, formally known as George Herman, was born on February 6th, 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. His father George senior and mother Kate had eight other kids and everyone passed away except for Babe and his sister Mamie. Babe’s parents didn’t care about him and he did whatever he wanted to do as a young boy including skipping school. At the age of seven his father George Sr. took Babe to St. Mary's, an all-boys school and signed over custody to the Xaverian Brothers, Catholic Jesuit Missionaries that ran St. Mary’s. He wasn’t very studious but Babe fell in the love with the game of baseball and excelled in it. A monk at St. Mary's, Brother Matthias, became a father figure and mentor to Babe. Brother Matthias saw potential in Babe and practiced with him to perfect his skills. Eventually becoming a Major League prospect.

Babe had gotten so talented that St. Mary's invited the Baltimore Orioles owner Jack Dunn to come watch Babe play in 1914 and got offered a contract to play for the Orioles. Jack Dunn was well known for picking up kids that he thought had Major League

If Babe would’ve never became a full time outfielder for the Yankees he probably still would’ve went to the Hall Of Fame for being a pitcher. Babe was a special player and everyone thought so. Most believed that Babe Ruth was something out of this world perhaps not human. Babe was loved by many people. Young or old it didn’t matter he was the face of baseball. No one has ever came close to being as loved as Babe Ruth and it is doubted that anyone ever will. The game will never be the same as before babe he revolutionized the game of baseball with one swing of the. Even though Babe did strikeout a lot he never let it stop him from doing which was hitting home runs. He was quoted saying “never let the ear of striking out get in your way”. Babe sure lived up to that quote.
