Acceptance Criteria In order for the deck to be accepted by the Homeowner, it must be built to the design plan and construction must be complete by the July 3, 2012, 4:00pm deadline. It must also be constructed within budget, unless written approval from the Homeowner is obtained prior to completion.

Project Charter

The project team devised the following charter during the initiation process of the project to guide our custom deck build (see Table 1 for reference). This document is the preliminary identification of key factors, roles and risk associated with the Deck Build Project. According to the Project Management Institute (PMI) (2008), “when the project charter is approved, the project becomes officially authorized” (p. 44).
