The “Banking” concept of education, a notion used by Paulo Freire to critique the traditional education system. He argues that the “Banking” concept does not allow the students to learn effectively. they are portrayed as empty containers into which instructors must deposit knowledge. The notion sustains a lack of critical thinking, whereas a student is unable to have a clear understanding of the society in which they live. They are unable to understand the realities or reality, hence why Paulo Freire calls the “Banking” concept of education a “misguided system” of education. “ The solution is not to integrate” them into the structure of oppression, but to transform that structure so that they can become beings for themselves,” this quote states that instead of rebuking a student’s critical conscience it should be embraced and supported otherwise the student feels oppressed and unimportant. A system in wh9ch the teacher “ deposits” information while the student solely receives and repeats the concept, should be involved, for it enables students to enhance their willfulness to learn. I agree with Paulo Freire's critique of the “ Banking” concept, because it truly leads to the oppression of student. Until this day I still struggle with developing a critical conscious because I was always taught under the guidelines of the “ Banking” concept. I was unable to question my instructors or even analyze certain thing to my own understanding by my instructor would consider it wrong. “ The way something is defined remains that way” was always my professor’s saying. To my findings however, the way something defined is defined that way based on a person’s analyzation ,based on their perspective. Theories can change over time it is just up to someone to critique and question it. The “Banking” concept is and always will be a “ misguided
