Losing a family member is a very horrible thing; pets are a part of our families they shouldn’t be taken away. People do a lot of things to keep their pit bulls. The media overly targets pit bulls, and doesn’t care if the dog breed actually is a pit bull or not, if they don’t know the breed they call it a pit bull without any thought. Clearly a ban on pit bulls wouldn’t be very authentic.
In addition, pit bulls haven’t always had a bad reputation and not all pit bulls are bad. Stubby saved his whole platoon from a poison gas attack. As a matter of fact, pit bulls used to be very popular. Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Edison, and Hellen Keller all had pit bulls. This is why the big cause of all this unfair evasion is the media! The media overly targets pit bulls.
The media only talks about pit bull attacks no other dog species; therefore if a dog has a better reputation they will keep quiet. The media also calls all unknown dog breeds pit bulls. If your dog is a muscular, short haired dog and they don’t know what breed it is they will call it a pit bull.
On the other hand many people say pit bulls have the leading amount of attacks out of all breeds and should be ban, since the media calls all unknown dog breeds pit bulls that basically doubles the amount of attacks by pit bulls making their reputation very misleading. Although many people think pit bulls are very vicious, dangerous animals, many can be very good guard dogs and just because some pit bulls attack doesn’t mean all do. You can’t judge a pit bull by the other dogs in its breed just like you can’t judge one person by what another person does. It’s not the problem in the breed it’s the problem in the irresponsible owners who don’t train their pit bulls. If all of this isn’t going to make you change your mind about not banning pit bulls I don’t know what
