Do you consider living on the streets too dangrous?
In the article titled "Homeless woman dies of exsposure on skid row sidewalk during El Nino storm" by Gale Holland, she covers how the deadly storm claimed the life of a 60-year old homeless women by the name of Barbra Brown. Barbra Brown's exsitence in the storm without even a tent to keep her sheltered raised awareness for others around her, causing Deacon Alexnder to call LAPD suggesting they pick her up off the streets to see another day. Officers responded to calls and tried to suggest Shelter for Brown and explain the dangers of staying out in the storm since they can not make her seek shelter but Brown refused shelter or help in any source resulting in her death moments later.
Barbra Brown's death raised a concern to many that there is very little control the authorities have over homeless saftey. Due to barbra brown's death officials came up with a plan to detain the homeless if they are illgally living down by the river and refuse to move along with restricting dangerous areas due to the storms in hope of the homeless seeking shelter.

if someone is unable to provide for themselves or doesnt seek help, by law they should be placed in programs that will help you become stable and stay stable simliar to how we look at food stamps and assisted living. the program should provide temporary housing and teach everyday skills such as: personal hygeinne, time managment, money managment, and how to apply for jobs. i think that with these programs you can at least put a small dent in the homeless population. with these programs not only will the homeless have a second chance at creating and molding their lives, but they will also be given the same oppurtunites they may have once
