One summer day my dad and I were hanging out. He brought up baseball and how he played in college. That’s when he said, I should play baseball. I thought and thought and I said ok. My dad signed me up. I am so happy. I got put on a team named the strikers. Our first practice is at 7:00 at night and it is at Bacus.
I got in my dad’s black truck and we drove to Bacus.
“I can’t wait!”
After a while, we got to Bacus. All of the kids looked faster and stronger.
“Dad, is this a good idea?”
Then coach. Jet yells and said, “go run some laps, kids then do ten pushups.” After that coach. Jet blew his red whistle and said: “I will now hit you guys some ground balls.” I missed all of them and, everyone else caught the white ball with red stripes.

I walked up to the white plate and I struck out every time, while the other kids were hitting home runs. “I hate baseball dad.”

“Son it is your first year playing baseball. It is part of life to drop balls, strike out, you just have to believe in yourself.” After that pep talk, I felt like a whole new person and, I felt like I could do anything in life if I try. I grew up to be a great baseball player. All I had to do was to believe in myself. After all, I grew up to be a great baseball player. I caught all of the ground balls and my hitting was 236%.
