For a basketball player to become great in the eyes of his peers, he must work harder than ever imagined. The training is unbearable at times but if I can take it, I can make it. Some people can take the stress that comes along with becoming a phenomenal athlete, most cannot. Basketball is a mental sport where I have to constantly be thinking about what to do next. One of the most difficult parts of basketball is practice. I constantly have to go to the gym and work on my shot for hours until I know that I am ready for my next game. Once a team is known for winning, there is a target on their back to beat them. If we don’t go out every night with the mentality to win, we won’t be undefeated anymore. B.E. 7 Therefore, the pressure is constantly on us to win. Many times expectations has killed our team. Last year we finally made it over the hump and won some games and eventually made it to state. Although that was a great accomplishment, we weren’t able to win down at state and that kills me on the inside. Apart of me feels like we as a team let everyone in the community down.
