Everyone needs a passion in life, regardless of what it is. A passion is something you love to do and it never becomes bothersome or boring. A passion is also something that gives you a break from life and its troubles. Basketball is my passion. It is something I love that I can look forward to daily, focus on completely, and improve on always. I play and practice basketball daily, as it is always exciting and enjoyable. I play on the Hillcrest basketball team everyday after school. I go into practice ready to have fun and work on my game. Not only has being on the team made me better as a basketball player, but it has also influenced me as a person. Despite getting to practice an hour late everyday because of my attendance at Townview, my teammates and coaches still treat me with respect, which I appreciate a lot. Additionally, all the coaches’ speeches have encouraged me to be a better person off the court and to treat others well like the Hillcrest team has treated me. Basketball is my passion because I will always love it and it is a major part of my daily life that brings me enjoyment, and improves me as a person. Seeing professional athletes motivates me to strive towards improvement and realize that I always have something to work on.
