The main character (protagonist) of the movie is great king of Sparta Leonidas. At the beginning of the movie the director describes the young years of the future great king: his strict punishments, his combat training, in brief his becoming the great soldier. Later, the action of the film mostly is taking place on the battlefield, in the narrow mountain passage where Leonidas bravely and efficiently defend his country against the great army of Persians aggressors.
