Beatrice and Benedick...two completely different and similar characters. Both very witty, both actually never really loved. Both don’t realize that love has been right in front of them this entire time.
Unlike Claudio and Hero, Beatrice and Benedick don’t confess their love for each other right away. They deny, deny, deny. Both are scared of loving...having trust issues. Throughout the first Act they kept saying how much they despise one another. Only to cover/hide their true feelings towards each other. The fact that they were indeed in love was hidden by their wit. They’d make fun of each other, tease, laugh at, or joke about one another. Some saw what they were doing. But Benedick and Beatrice did what they do best...deny/lie.
