Becoming A Veterinarian

From the time I was about three years old, my parents knew I was going to pursue a career that had something to do with animals. My mom had left the Band-Aids and Ace bandages out on the bathroom counter and I, being the curious little girl, got my hands on them and went right to “curing” the family dog, Speckles, of his “broken leg” and “wounds.” When all was said and done, poor Speckles was covered head to tail in Band-Aids and could barely walk with his makeshift cast. That was when my parents knew I was destined to become a vet. What they didn’t know was that I had much more in store for myself than being just a vet; I planned on becoming a food animal veterinarian specializing in bovine care.
