A career in the ironworker/structural metal fabricator has many responsibilities such as being responsible for laying out and constructing steel structures while also cutting, welding, interpreting blueprints and site plans. As well as working with steel, iron workers and metal fabricators work with concreate and laying the reinforcing steel bars as well as bolting pieces into place and attaching cables to the steel for a crane to then transport to the desired location.
To become either an ironworker or a structural metal fabricator for education you mainly need a high school diploma whilst taking math, construction, welding, and blueprint reading courses are highly encouraged. The average ironworker
