Sometimes in life there are bad things that happen to even the most generous and kindest people. Some that they will give anything to help somebody else even if what they have alone is barely enough for themselves. They are always the ones who jump in when someone needs help and give all they have. They will always try to rebuild what was broken. These people don't have the glorious lifestyle and they don't live in the best places. Being persistent is a major theme that the author was meaning, being persistent is never giving up, always willing to help out, and doing your best with what you have.

From the story mentioned above I think a major theme would be persistence and being persistence would also mean that you are never giving up. These people live in a world basically because they have to because that's what they can afford. The reason why the rich people don't live there is because why would they put all their expensive things

It takes the strongest and the most courageous people to keep moving forward. We think that one disaster is hard imagine having to go through this four or five times in a row. They are such strong people and they are never going to back down. It's going to be hard and it was hard, but if they give up they would be as good as the rubble that lay next to them on the ground, dead and useless. They are always so willing to help anybody who is in need and everyone is so willing to help them by sending blood and crews to come help build new homes. Also these many people know that their love and faith is stronger and goes beyond money. Because someday everyone is going to go through what they deal with on the daily and realize that their fancy car or nice house won't do them any good when it is crushed. All of these things sum up to the theme of being persistent. I think the author was trying to show how strong and persistent these people really
