Picture a fire breathing monster with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail. Then after, having to kill two armies, but you only end up being crippled for life. Well, that is the story of Bellerophon's life. Bellerophon is the best of the Greek heroes. For example, he killed Chimera, he tamed Pegasus and he killed two armies alone.

One reason they say is is the best is because he killed the monster Chimera. But, as a counterclaim then he was forced to kill it. After Bellerophon tamed the Pegasus, Iobates sent two armies after him and Bellerophon killed all of the men. He would not have to kill them though if Iobates would just have killed him when he was supposed to. According to www.greekmythology.com/ Iobates solution to killing Bellerophon was to send him on deadly tasks. That is how killing the Amazon and Solymosi tribe made him the best of the heroes.
