Picture a fire breathing monster with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail. Then after, having to kill two armies, but you only end up being crippled for life. Well, that is the story of Bellerophon's life. Bellerophon is the best of the Greek heroes. For example, he killed Chimera, he tamed Pegasus and he killed two armies alone.

One reason they say is is the best is because he killed the monster Chimera. But, as a counterclaim then he was forced to kill it. According to www.theoi.com/ Bellerophon drove a lead tipped spear into its body. Also, he was forced to by Iobates because he thought he was raping his daughter. After Bellerophon tamed the Pegasus, Iobates sent two armies after him and Bellerophon killed all of the men. He would not have to kill them though if Iobates would just have killed him when he was supposed to. According to www.greekmythology.com/ Iobates solution to killing Bellerophon was to send him on deadly tasks. On www.greek-gods.org/ though Iobates was reluctant to kill Bellerophon because it was a sin to the gods. On www.theoi.com/ is says that Iobates ordered both the Solymosi tribe and then the Amazones. That is how killing the Amazon and Solymosi tribe made him the best of the heroes.

Those are the reasons the make Bellerophon the best of all the greek heros. In Greek mythology, Bellerophon was a hero and warrior who accidentally killed two men, including his own brother according to www.mythencyclopedia.com/ leading him to do 3 deadly and heroic tasks i his future.
