No question, it’s been a bittersweet season for Ben Sexton and the Belleville Senators who have had their ups and downs.
The 5-foot-11, 196 pound right winger is compiling an impressive season, to say the least, scoring eight goals, along with eight assists, for a total of 16 points in 18 games played.

The 26-year-old’s season started with a low, picking up just two points in his first eight games. Than the injury bug hit, appearing in Belleville’s first two-games of the year before missing three weeks in October, before returning to the lineup for just six-games before a three month lay-off from hockey due to an upper body injury. Sexton has missed a total of 39-games on the season, 64 percent of Belleville's games.

Upon his return on February 2nd, Sexton has hit a high, posting 14 points in 14 games. In a full 76 game season, he would be on pace for a total of 27 goals and 55 points.

In his four-year collegiate hockey career with Clarkson in the NCAA, a natural leader Sexton wore a letter in three of his year seasons, being named an alternate in his sophomore season, while being named captain of the Golden Knights in his junior and senior seasons. Sexton has also dawned an ‘’A’’ in his professional career.

The Ottawa, Ontario native was acquired last off-season following a career season with the Albany Devils, registering 19 goals and 31 points in 54 games. He was signed to a two-year, two-way contract, earning $725,000 in the NHL and $165,000 in the AHL for both
