Ben Stapleton, a mayor of the city of Denver, in the state of Colorado involved with the KKK! Stapleton was a mayor of Denver who served for five terms. He built more infrastructure and made civic improvements. He worked on the Denver Civic Center and the Denver Municipal Airport. He was also involved in the hate group called the KKK. The Ku Klux Klan, also known as the KKK was a hate group that was created to spread hate and the idea of white supremacy. The group was created after the Civil War for racists in the south. Ben Stapleton created an airport, which became Stapleton airport, which in turn made the neighborhood around the airport called Stapleton. Professor Lindquist-Dorr, a professor of history at the University of Alabama, had a phone interview with The Christian Science Monitor because of the renaming of the Morgan hall building. Prof. Lindquist-Dorr states, “Whites across the country breathed a sigh of relief in assuming America’s ‘race problem’ was solved”. Until solving the U.S’ race problem the name shouldn’t change, because it will be like pretending everything’s ok, even though it’s not. Also according to Alfred Brophy, “Building names are gauges of how we think, but renaming doesn’t solve racism”. This is so true, if changing names of buildings, people might think they feel better, but people are just hiding the fact that there is a racial divide between people and people must see that there is a problem to fix it. This problem must be faced before the name can be changed, even if every name of every building it might not change racial inequality. Keeping the names will make us strive to have an accepting society of all races, and then, and only then can the name of Stapleton can be
