As amazing NBA player LeBron James once said, “When did I know I had talent? I think it started when I first started playing sports, organized sports.” This quote explains that organized sports can lead to great success and unveil talent from a young age. This is not the only benefit though. Many more benefits are proven by the fact that kids should be allowed to play organized sports.

One way that organized sports can help children is by teaching them important life skills such as how to get along with people they do not like. If someone is on a child’s team and they really do not like them, they are stuck with them anyway. This forces children to figure out how to cope with disliked people. Later in life, chances are that everyone will get stuck with someone they dislike in one thing or another. But due to organized sports, they will know how to cope with it. Another life lesson to be learned by organized sports is how to work as a team and communicate. This reason is quite self explanatory. Everyone knows that it is bad to abuse drugs and alcohol, and many people do it anyway, but people that play organized sports are a lot less likely to abuse these things and harm themselves. Another reason that organized sports make children healthier is by keeping them in shape. This reason is quite obvious. If someone is exerting themself physically, they burn fat and calories, and they will greatly reduce the risk of many problems like cardiac arrest, obesity, and diabetes. Organized sports also make kids choose healthier decisions. If they know there is a huge game coming up, they will be more tempted to keep healthy and eat healthy foods rather than eating junk foods high in fat and sugar which compromise their health and might make them sick before the
