Why is the Electoral College Good for America? Have you ever wondered if the way that America elects a president is fair to the people that live in America? The electoral college is a good for the voters and to the democracy of America. The electoral college is the way that the citizens of the United States of America elect a president . The number of electors shall be equal to the number of Senators and Representatives . The way that they give representatives is based on population in the state. The electoral college was a part of the constitution. The people that were writing it thought of many ways to elect presidents, but they found that the electoral college gave power to the people. Another reason is that the candidates have to go all over America because every state matters in the electoral college. The candidates can not leave out states while he is campaigning if they want to win. The reason that that is important is that some states would be left out of the campaign if the electoral college was not around. Another reason it is fair for America is that it gives more power to the smaller states and takes some from the large states. The reason that it gives more power to the smaller states is that it gives more votes per person than larger states. The electoral college also helps with the election not being a very long process; if the electoral college did not exist, the election will take a very long time to count all of the votes and to see who would win the state. What does the electoral college do for the states? The electoral college makes the candidate campaign all over America because every state matters. The electoral college makes them go to middle America even though they are not highly populated. The electoral college gives power to smaller states. The way that it give power to the smaller states is that they have more votes per person. The positives of the electoral college is that it lets all if America speak their opinion statewide other that nationwide because some of them disagree. It separates the candidates into two parties either republican and democratic so candidates with wild beliefs have to conforme to one of the two to be taken serious. The electoral college also makes the people in each state to vote for which candidate they think would be better. The electoral college also makes the candidates have to get voters all over America with different opinions to vote from them to win.
