Claim:
Many people in our community go to bed hungry at night, and most have children that go hungry as well. Some people are this way because of circumstances that they cannot control, others because of poor lifestyle choices. For people in need, multiple soup kitchens and places for hungry people to go are available in Brownstown and Seymour. Many churches and other organizations are overjoyed to help out. For us to volunteer, it helps everybody out. It helps the hungry people because we cook a hot meal for them, and it helps The Alley out by filling in for their volunteering slots. By volunteering, it will not only help feed the people in need, but it will help the short staffed Alley, and benefit us substantially. Volunteering in a soup kitchen is benefiting us in many ways we never thought possible. We are able to feel accomplished because we helped people in need receive hot meals, that otherwise they may not receive. We are also able to know that what we are doing will make a major difference in these people’s lives.
How is it feasible?:
Volunteering at The Alley in Seymour is a feasible project because Elizabeth attends Seymour Christian Church. Seymour Christian Church collaborates with The Alley. She also knows the individual that owns the soup kitchen, so when the individual is called he will provide us with times and dates that are available for us to volunteer. After we receive the times and dates, we will compare our schedules, and select two dates that we both can volunteer on.
