Benjamin Banneker was born on November 9, 1731. He was best at making wooden clocks. In Benjamin's early life he took over his parents farm and became a good farmer. Benjamin Banneker worked in Washington D.C. after he had made the clock; his famous quote was, “Presumption should never make us neglect that which appears easy to us, nor does the pair lose courage at the sight of courage.” Benjamin taught himself the study of everything in the universe beyond Earth’s atmosphere. He made a wooden clock using only a pocket knife. He accurately predicted a solar eclipse in 1789. Two years later, he was a sailor.
