Whether we like to think about it or not slavery is highly associated with the history of this country. Through this, there have been many attempts to claim its contradiction to the constitution, never the less it did happen and abrogating it from this nation took effort. Benjamin Banneker who was the son of former slaves and understood the state of his enslaved brethren brought one of these attempts. Banneker took a risk and wrote to Thomas Jefferson about his opposing side of slavery in which he carries out comparisons both men share, strong pathos within his diction, repetition, and several biblical allusions.
