Benjamin Franklin, born January 17, 1706, was a notorious man. Ambitious, Rebellious, and strategic were some of the “First American’s” great qualities. Early on in life, Benjamin yearned to sail the seas. His father, on the other hand, had different plans. Ben’s love of reading led him to be an apprentice in printing. Besides printing, he lived in Boston while attending Boston Latin School at the age of 8. Quickly into his academic career, it was noticed that he was far more advanced in every field of learning. This led to him being enrolled in the George Brownell’s English School of writing and literature. Unfortunately, his time at George Brownell’s was short lived. His arguably biggest feat was his contributions to the Revolutionary War. “ First American” was a nickname he earned for his backing of the colonies early on. “Well done is better than well said” is something Benjamin Franklin once said. This quote fits his character perfectly for various reasons. One of the reasons is, he implements this way of thought during the American Revolution. In simple terms, this quote means actions speak louder than words. And Ben does just that. For example, he takes charge and helped draft the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Next, Ben devoted his time to the negotiation of the Treaty of Paris, or better known as the document that ended the war. Finally, he was a delegate at the convention, which spawned the U.S.
