In my opinion, everyone has there own definition of what a hero is. In the poem Beowulf , my definition of a hero is portrayed as one the most heroic people in known literature. Beowulf is the hero. He shows great leadership and selflessness by risking his own body and life for the common good. He is also important and needed by his people and is known worldwide as a vicious warrior. By showing all of the qualities that a hero has, beowulf is a true idol in any bystanders eyes and is respected by any and everyone. Beowulf, any ordinary hero , obtains a lot of qualities which make him such . heroes are, in some sense, beyond human ability. They are almost superhuman. While showing bravery, and strength. They have a strong desire for justice. If you look up the amount of heroes in old literature, almost all of them are men, but throughout the society of the world, things have changed. Men and woman both have proved throughout time that they both can be courageous. How can Beowulf not succeed in any task he undergoes? There is a reason he is so well known. He fought in a lot of battles, according to tales, and won all of them until he died in his last. He has killed nine sea creatures in the lurking waters of the ocean. He can have so much , but in his eyes, I think he sees it as the only thing that he has in life. Now saying this to any ordinary person in the Anglo-Saxon time period, they would probably look at you like you're the dumbest person they have ever talked too. He was raised into fighting and war and that is the only thing that he understands. In my opinion, all honesty, Beowulf is an unforgettable hero and will be a legendary icon throughout
