I found it interesting that when Beowulf’s home was burned down because of the dragon, he did not call for help. Instead of using the army, he decided to fight the dangerous dragon on his own. This made me wonder about whether there were some selfish reasons involved in his decision to face the dragon alone. After the battle, he boasted to the people that he had risked his life for the glory of winning. This made me wonder about how important winning was to him. Do you think Beowulf would use any method he could in order to defeat the dragon and win? Why or why not?
