Betrayal in today’s world is becoming so common. Even to the closest people who many may even consider to be family. Leading it to be such a repeated occurrence. In the story “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the unnamed protagonist faces many instances of betrayal.
The first betrayal in the story is from the baby. Whether the baby is alive or not, it causes many issues for the unnamed protagonist. She is a victim of what today’s world calls post-partum depression, leaving her feeling sad and hopeless. This causes her to be put into a possible mental home and being in the 1800’s no one ever got out of those.
Another betrayal of the protagonist is the protagonist’s husband, John. He betrays her in more ways than one since
