Often times people utilize certain sources and watch certain news channels because these viewers can relate to the views of these sources. It can make one believe that his/her perspective is correct simply because that is what the new source is providing. Viewers watch the news sources that share the same opinions as their own, because these viewers are just as bias as the sources; these viewers favor one side, as do the news sources. John Stossel, a Fox News reporter discusses the book “Bias” with author Bernie Goldberg, an ex CBS News reporter. It is important that news sources provide facts because not only does that allow viewers to choose a side, but it also informs him/her about what is going on. Most of the news sources on the television favor one side and inform the viewers about the information they want to tell the viewer in order to get him/her to agree with the beliefs of the news source. An individual should not have to search for the truth; every source should give both sides of a story. Each individual should be able to find the truth in a single source. Since this is not the case, viewers are having to look for the truth. Watching the news on the television mostly shows only one side of the story and the sources do not pay attention to other opinions which makes the viewer stick to that belief as well. The younger generation rarely watches news on the television; instead, this generation relies on the electronic devices to give all the information. However, in today’s generation, most individuals do not rely on television for the news. These individuals utilize electronic devices, such as phones, to find out about recents news. The people of today’s generation are being open to a various amount of information and the electronic devices provide easy access to all sorts of sources, viewpoints, and information. Unfortunately, most sources are used to telling one side of the story so the viewers do not know what the real truth is and these viewers believe what is brought to the table. Since people are used to thinking that their views are correct, these viewers get information from new sources that share similar views. Many people choose not to challenge themselves because by doing this, an individual will be open to the truth and other opinions that may make the viewer feel as if he/she is wrong in what he/she believes. For instance, surveys have been completed to test the amount of people that are challenged. Based on the results of the surveys, it is very convenient that people who work and are over the age of 30 are least likely to be challenged. After working long shifts, it is understandable that these viewers do not want to be challenge, because coming home from work, these people must be tired and decide to turn on the television to one channel to find out about the news, rather than finding sources that will provide the truth. An individual like this falls into a category called group think and this is where an individual believes in a certain way and only watches news sources with the same ways because it helps assure him/her that his/her belief is right. No matter what it takes, it is highly important that each person learns
