Chico Creek Nature Center
Registration Form – Summer Camp 2013
Held at the Chico Creek Nature Center in the heart of Bidwell Park, Camp Chico Creek consists of 10 1-week sessions of environmental education camp for children 5-11 years old. The program is designed to provide outdoor recreation activities and to foster awareness of nature in a fun, safe, and caring setting. Themes covering the Park’s habitats and its natural and cultural history are presented to campers through guided nature walks, lab activities, presentations of the Nature Center’s live animals, arts and crafts and swimming in Big Chico Creek.
Registration begins: April 22nd, 2013 and will continue until all sessions are full.

*Week 4 will be only 4 days. There is no camp on the 4 of July holiday.

VOLUNTEER CIT (COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING)

June 10, 2013 - August 16, 2013
Our CIT program is open to teen applicants who will be entering 9th – 12th grades in the fall of 2013. CITs selected to volunteer at camp this summer will gain valuable job training while also experiencing all the fun of camp themselves.
They will be assisting counselors, supervising campers, and preparing activities in a supportive and professional work setting. Applicants must have a sincere interest in nature and working with younger children. They must be mature and able to get along with campers and co-workers in a professional manner. All applicants must be able to work five days a week for the full 10 weeks and will be scheduled between the hours of 8:00am-5:30pm (Days off /Family vacations will be granted with a minimum of two weeks advance notice).

Interview Dates: Wednesday, May 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. or Saturday, May 11th 10:00a.m.-12:00 p.m.
FEE: $150 for the 10 weeks of Summer.
All CITs selected will be expected to participate in a voluntary summer camp introduction session on Saturday,
June 1, 2013 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
There will be no refunds for vacation days or illness.

Registration Process:
To register your child for camp, please fill out the attached registration form and submit along with payment.
Registration deadline is the Thursday prior to the beginning of each session. You can register by mail, in person, or by phone with a credit card. Tuition must be paid in advance to reserve a camp slot for your child. We accept cash, personal check, Visa, or MasterCard for payment. Please carefully consider your choice(s) of camp sessions as we do not offer refunds after the first day of camp. Requests for refunds must be a minimum of one week prior to the first day of each camp session. A 15% administration fee will be assessed for every refund.
