Bill Gates full name is William Henry Gates III. He was born in Seattle, Washington on October 28, 1955 to William H. Gates II and Mary Maxwell Gates. William also had two sisters, one older Kristi and one younger Libby. His mother was a teacher and Chairperson for the United Way and his father was an attorney in Seattle. His great-grandfather was a state legislator and a mayor, his grandfather was vice president of national bank. So Bill was born into a family of rich business. In school Bill was excellent in mathematics and science. He used to be so bored in school that his parents gave him more information to keep him busy. Gates then started to program computers at age 13, and then they eventually enrolled him in a private school, known for its intense academic environment. Gates scored a 1590 out of 1600 on his SAT, and he then attended Harvard University where he worked on BASIC a computer programming language with Paul Allen. Bill never graduated Harvard because he left to start Microsoft. Gates is a former chief executive and current chairman of Microsoft. Gates held the positions of CEO and chief software architect. Bill started his work at a very young age which made him able to take more risks at the domain. He had many achievements as an IT specialist and was a very good business man. Bill Gates was a great enthusiast that really enjoyed his work. This all made him start developing good leadership skills. Organizational structure can be considered how individuals see their organization and its environment. The structure determines how an organization will operate and perform. Organizational structure provides standard in which procedures and routines are done. It also determines how employees will participate in which decision-making processes and certain tasks. Bill Gates is the founder of Microsoft Corporation along with Paul Allen. Bill was the chief executive officer but stepped down in 2000. He transferred his duties to Ray Ozzie, and Craig Mundie. Even though he is only part time now, he is the chairman so he is in charge of mostly everything. Any idea and most tasks get an okay from Bill. He decides on direction and then gets others to implement his vision.
William Henry Gates the third used a couple techniques when it came to his leadership style. Bill used an authoritarian leadership style. This seems to be one of the most successful leadership styles. He provided clear expectations for what needs to be done, when it should be done, and how it should be done! He controls all activities without any meaningful help. At times when employees wouldn’t be doing what they are supposed to Bill would get sarcastic with them. He also would be a little to blunt sometimes when in meetings and say some rude remarks, but it was all out of respect to make the business better; which he succeeded in! He also used Autocratic style. He has an obsession with everything being perfect right down to the very last detail. Gates likes to be in control of his management, and he dislikes complaints. Another style used is Delegate style. Bill needed the best talent, and that is who he hired! He believed it would be the most critical element in the industry. He also delegates power to some managers to run their own independent departments. Even though many people criticized Bill for making Microsoft a monopoly and limited the abilities of other competitors. Gates has fought many legal battles in court since Microsoft against Apple, Netscape, Opera, WordPerfect, and sun Microsystems. Through all the criticism and battles he founded one of the strongest and influential companies in the world. Bill Gates led a very successful company and was a very successful leader. Vision and dedication are two main key factors Bill has always had even since he was younger. His hard work, dedication, and self-confidence helped him get to where he is today. Bill Gates is a very intelligent, passionate, and innovated person. He is a good leader
