Biodiversity is the amount and verity of species located in a specific region. According to the wildlife article “a species is a group of living organisms that can be interbreed”. There are different types of species in trees and flowers. There are different parts of biodiversity which are Genetic biodiversity and Ecological biodiversity. Genetic biodiversity in the different variations within a specific species, for example snakes are part of the same species but there is a different between a rattle snake and an eastern ribbon snake. The eastern ribbon snake was named that because it has a very thin body, it is anywhere from 16-28 inches. This snake is mahogany color with black on top and two stripes of yellow on each side. The tail is very long making up the most body length of the snake. The snakes eyes are white and round with a bit of black and they pop out the most on the snake’s small face. There are female and male eastern ribbon snakes and the female snake is thicker and longer than the male snake. Although there are female and male ribbon snakes they are very similar so there is a bit of complication to distinguish which is which. The only thing that might distinguish them is the size in body; the female snake is a bit thicker than the male. These snakes are found pretty much all around the eastern United Sates, mainly closer to any water. The one place you might not see a ribbon snake is through any of the Appalachian Mountains. Ribbon snakes are semi aquatic, they are found easier by water than by dry surfaces. These places can be around edges of lakes, ponds and any edge of a wet surface, these places maybe in Florida, the Bahamas, and Aruba, tropical places like these with more wet surfaces. The eastern ribbon snake is not a common snake that can be found anywhere, we might think of this snake as a snake we might find at a mountain rock climbing or something but it is not. The most popular place to find this snake is at wetlands like I mentioned previously. Although the ribbon snake can be found on dry land as well, it is very rare to find a ribbon snake on dry land. This specific snake is not like every other snake, when this snake is frightened or feels threatened it runs and hides at dark places and even might go glide onto the water to get away. This snake does not go directly into deep water; it remains on top and simply glides from one side to the other to get away when it feels afraid of something. If they
