What elements are present in carbohydrates?
Carbohydrates are made of carbon, and contain hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Carbon is the base atom and oxygen, and hydrogen is bonded to the carbon. The ratio of hydrogen to oxygen is 2:1.

What is the simplest type of carbohydrate?
The simplest carbohydrate molecules are called Monosaccharide. Its basic molecular formula is (CH2O) n with n generally being between three and seven in living organisms. Glucose, fructose and galactose are the different types of Monosaccharide.

Why are carbohydrates important?
Carbohydrates are key for maximum energy, speed, stamina, concentration, recovery and better fluid balance. They are vital for athletes and active individuals because they are the primary fuel for your body.
Think of carbohydrates as the gas needed to fuel a car. Without gas, a car won't run. Likewise, without carbohydrates, your body will not have the fuel it requires to support your daily mental and physical activities.

What elements are found in lipids? What substances are considered to be lipids?
Lipids are important constituent of the diet because they are a source of high-energy value. Lipids are also important because of the fat-soluble vitamins, and essential fatty acids found in the fat of the natural food stuffs. Body fat serves as a very good source of energy; it is stored in adipose tissues. They also act as insulating material in the subcutaneous tissues and are also seen around certain organs. Lipids combined with proteins are important constituents of the cell membranes and mitochondria of the cell. Lipids are not generally macromolecules.

Lipids are naturally occurring organic compounds, commonly known as oils and fats. Lipids occur through out the living world in microorganisms, higher plants and animals and also in all cell types. Lipids contribute to cell structure, provide stored fuel and also take part in many biological
