Currently, I am enrolled in Biology major at the University of North Florida. Even though this is my first year in college I will be virtually a junior by the end of summer of 2015. Succeeding in the Biology major is a two pronged approach. This approach entails to acquiring hands on experience on the knowledge you are gaining along with maintaining an excellent academic position. Finishing my Biology degree in an excellent standing is necessary for me because my long term-goal of attending medical school is dependent on it.
Biology major being one of the hardest majors out there has many difficult pre-requisites. These pre-requisites include classes ranging from humanities, mathematics and sciences. For example, to be considered for Biology major at UNF, I must take Chemistry 1 and 2, Biology 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, two math courses, three communication courses and couple humanities. Due to passing AP exams in high school, I just have to take one humanity class. Last semester, I completed Biology 1, Chemistry 1, ENC 1143 and Calculus 1. This semester along with ENC 1101, I will complete Biology 2, Chemistry 2, Philosophy and Statistics. In the summer of 2015, I will enroll in Biology 3 and a communication course.
Thus After this summer, I will have completed all my lower level courses for the major and all my humanities except Organic Chemistry 1 and Organic Chemistry 2. After summer of

Currently, I have a 3.9 science GPA and a 3.71 over all GPA. If I accomplish this goal I will prove to be a competitive candidate for Medical School. In the spring of my 2016 I will start studying for MCAT, which stands for medical college aptitude test. My goal would be to at least achieve a 30 out of 35 on it. With a high MCAT sore and well above average GPA for my major, I hope I will make it into a prestigious Medical
