In an eloquent and verbose speech, Symone Sanders relayed the history of Black History Month and convincingly persuaded the audience to become what she referred to as “Radical Revolutionists.” She repeatedly spoke on how young people, such as myself, have always been the outlet to change. It was, in fact, students of Kent University that put in place a Black History Month rather than sticking with the outdated Negro History Week created by African American scholar, Carter G. Woodson.
