Black mass incarceration has been an issue for African Americans communities and all over the world. In the United States African Americans are label as criminals by the history of their family and what they wear and by stereotypes. They are too many African Americans in jail such as that In Maryland whose prison population is 72 percent of African Americans and it tops the nation. There is a least 1 in 20 adult black males in prison in eleven states and In Wisconsin, there is 2,542 African Americans males and female in prison and there is 221 Caucasian Americans and 563 Hispanic Americans in prison. In Iowa, there is 2,349 African Americans incarcerated, 211 Caucasian Americans and 361 Hispanic Americans incarcerated. The rate of African Americans imprisonment in Vermont is 1 in 14 and in Delaware is 1 in 18. This explain that African …show more content…
The person who wrote the journal gives us information on how African Americans are locked up in jail and that they are being treated like our ancestors who were enslaved even though we abolish slavery in this country. This explains that African American were locked up against their own will without even doing a crime because of their race and African Americans are still locked up today for crimes that they didn’t commit just because the Supreme Court wants to make victims say their guilty so they can deal with something more important and they can get the case over with.
