Edward Teach was his real name not Blackbeard. Blackbeard joined a group of fearless pirates after the war ended. Most people were terrified of Blackbeard because of his beard. Blackbeard was a successful pirate because he caught many ships and left a legacy behind him.
Blackbeard was terrifying because of his beard. He would put fuses in his beard to make him look fearless in battle. Blackbeard took lots of goods because people feared him because of his beard. He would gunpowder in his beard and it would get tangled in his beard and then he would light them in battle.

Blackbeard was really important when he died because people were terrified of his beard, he was the greatest captain of all time and he was the greatest pirate of all time. He caught 40 ships in his whole pirate career.
