I chose the documentary “Blackfish” because it shows us how much companies like SeaWorld will cover up the truth to make money. The documentary is intended for people who want to know the truth behind what really happens at Sea World. Blackfish takes us through the journey of how SeaWorld became what it is today, and the story behind how they treat and train their whales.
This documentary was made to inform the audience about what really happens behind the scenes at SeaWorld and what they have been hiding from the world. The main reason this documentary was made was to make people ask “what are we really paying for when we go to these amusement parks?” These parks could be spending our money on important things, like trying to expand the pools for the whales or even buying food for the whales.

But Seaworld was given some conditions if they took the 100 million dollar plan “SeaWorld cannot breed any of the 11 whales in captivity in California (CNN 2015).” So now that Seaworld is expanding their pools they are not allowed to add any more whales to the pools. Which is probably a good thing so that they cannot train any more whales or give them a life they are not meant to have.
Before I watched the documentary I knew that they trained their whales and did shows with them but I was clueless about the whales hurting trainers. I expected the trainers to be more aware of what the whales can do to them. I also expected to see the whales to be in bigger pools then they are. The whales are placed in pools that are far too small for them. What I want to know is why they have not made the pools bigger for the whales? Why do they keep breeding their whales? But most importantly why do they lie to the people who come to visit and learn and watch the
