Brook, Frank, Joshua, Logan, and Michael arrive at Blackwood nature preserve in order to film a documentary on local fauna and flora for extra credit in their high school. After hiking for approximately three and a half hours, they finally make it to the small secluded cabin in the heart of the preserve. It's run down and sort of creepy, with several cockroaches scurrying into the unseen corners and an old, inactive radio sitting inside one of the dusty cabinets. It's going to be cramped with five people in one cabin, but the group was determined to make it work, after all, their future depends on it. After a few days of normal production, Joshua is unexpectedly found dead near the cabin. What ensues afterwards is a steady decline into anarchy between the four remaining students. When he told this to the others, they were puzzled. After some debate, they decide that they don't trust Eric's integrity, so they keep him tied up. When they return to their camp at dusk, they're greeted with unpleasant guests. Brook and Michael both had guns, so it was easy to subdue Frank and Logan. Brook had a very fragmented and damaged psyche, and with that came paranoia. She routinely went around the premises of the camp about every hour or so.
