In the short story “Bloodchild,” by Octavia E. Butler, is filled with grotesque descriptions and scenes that really get the reader’s attention. The scenes in this story offer a wide variety of feelings to the reader ranging from feeling sick from too much gore to feeling sympathy for characters almost committing suicide.
