The airline industry has progressed over years and it has altered the way in which people live and conduct business by shortening travel time. The airline industry exists in an intensely competitive market. In the U.S. all major airlines have come to be privately held and JetBlue and AirTran are probably two of the most known in the industry. The first thing AirTran and Jet Blue did was come up with a competitive approach as low-fare, low-cost airlines leading them in the airline industry. With that main objective they were able to create the most successful airline companies. They also had the best safety records in the airline business. In the nationally recognized 2009 Airline Quality Rating AQR) (for the year 2008) ranked AirTran second in overall quality and JetBlue number 3. They both pride themselves in providing superior customer service. “In 2007, JetBlue introduced the JetBlue Airways Customer Bill of Rights, which provides compensation to customers who experience avoidable inconveniences (and some unavoidable circumstances)” (David, 2011). AirTran’s second important aspect is also service and is clearly stated in their mission, “Innovative people dedicated to delivering the best flying experience to smart travelers. Every Day” (David,2011). Additionally, their strong marketing also differentiates them. AirTran offers business class seating on all of their aircraft and it offers free digital XM Radio. JetBlue offers a variety of in-flight entertainment such as…

what you learned the previous year? Public schools in the United States should switch to a full year school schedule with school 9 weeks and a 3 week long break. Students would attend school the same amount of days, but the days would be arranged differently. Year round school helps with test scores, avoids people getting sick of school, and will let us catch up to Europe and Asia in education.
First of all, students and teachers would get sick of school less quickly. With a regular schedule it’s…

much on text book knowledge. I hope to have more opportunities to discuss with the professors and classmates about problems we see in the real financial world, to put ourselves in some real situations. I know that Santa Clara University’s business school has very strong alumni, and the Bay area does not lack good companies to study as examples. I am very interested to learn from those real people, who have seen and solved real problems.
I hope I can take full advantage of my own strength in the…

What is a Hero?
If you were to look up the word hero on dictionary.com it would say that a hero was a "male character in a story, play, film, etc. of distinguished courage or ability." This though, is not really true because to all of us a hero is something more than this. Everyone has seen a hero in his/her life in which they have met a definition better than the dictionary's. There are many people with different definitions of a hero. A real hero, though, will be someone people can look up…
Thoughts: High School
My high school experience ‘in school has influenced my development as a person mentally, I’ve matured a lot of over the course of these past four years. I got out of a shy shell and I’ve learned how to network with important people. For example getting accepted into a college from academic performance in school if a professional college recruiter has been keeping in contact and watching a student throughout high school years. I think “ in” school experience has…
On the morning of April 20, 1999, students of Columbine High School pulled themselves out of bed, and brushed their teeth while still half asleep and feeling groggy. They ate their breakfast and headed out for another boring day at school. None would have ever thought that day that would change their whole life, or that their world would be flipped upside-down. Parents woke up to send their kids to school without any final goodbyes, thinking that their kids would be in a safe place…
