Bo Jackson is a special person because of his early life, his football career, and achievements. He was also the first African American to play two major league sports.

Bo Jackson was born in Bessemer, Alabama on November 30, 1962 (Source #4). Vincent Edward "Bo" Jackson is his real name. (Source #4). Bo jackson got his name "Bo" from getting in trouble often (Source #3). He was always getting in trouble around his pre-teen years until he grew up (Source #3). He went to high school at "McAdory High School" in McCalla, Alabama (Source #3). When Bo Jackson was a teenager he was a great athlete. He played track, field, football, and baseball. He also went to Auburn University after high school (Source #1). Before going to play for the New York Yankees he went to college at Auburn University (Source #4). He won the Sugar Bowl for Auburn University and also lead his baseball team to a victory (Source #1).

From 1982-86 he went to Auburn University. Bo Jackson Won the Heisman Trophy in 1985 (Source #4). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wanted him to play for them but he said no. Then he went to play baseball with the Kansas City Royals in 1986 (Source #2). Bo Jackson came back to the NFL to play for the Los Angeles Raiders in 1987 (Source #2). He averaged 5.4 yards per run and 8.8 per pass. That was his best year in the NFL career (Source #3). It took him 10 games to run 698 yards and get 5 touchdowns to get in the Pro Bowl (Source #4).
