Police officers hold one of the most scrutinized professions known to mankind and as technology advances the ways that officers can be monitored have changed. The latest development comes in the form of body worn cameras (BDW’s). These devices are no bigger than a badge and are outfitted to the chests of select officers across the country. Their institution has raised some questions about the principles behind their use. By outfitting officers with cameras, they no longer can have a “private life” while at work as everything they say and do will be recorded as public record.
