Like Bonilla-Silva, Omi and Winant think race is imposed by dominant group and have produced definite social relationship between different races. They agree on race is socially constructed and it is subjective, which means race is not definite, but it is made by dominate. Overtime, race transformed from just the simple us and them to a rival form of meaning. One of the limitation or mistake every theorist should avoid is only focus on individual and believes that racism is not foundation of the social system. Racism have transform from overt to covert and finally embedded in the social structure. According to Omi and Winant, racism today is complex, because it has influenced by many different history of inequality and invidious racial representation.
